A Stitch in Time
This crafty kit doesn't just give you something creative to do with your time--it lets you make time itself into something beautiful. This embroidered clock kit, from designer Laura Trimmell, draws inspiration from "redwork", a form of stitchery popular in the 19th century.
The base of the clock is an unstained, birch plywood disk, which allows the unique grain of each piece to shine through. The included instructions and stitch guide make the embroidery process simple. Once you're done, simply attach the included clock hardware to the back, insert one AA battery (not included), and it's time to sit back and take in your handiwork. Handmade in Portland, Oregon.
Unfortunately, this item cannot ship outside of the United States at this time.

- the maker
My company launched in 2008 and is my way of expressing my visual explorations with the world. Although my work has evolved over the past 5 years, my undeniable passion and satisfaction of working with my hands has stayed true. It is my mission to create handmade and small run goods of highest craftsmanship for you to enjoy. My most recent fascination has been with embroidery. I love the tactile feel of it and how it forces you to slow down while making each stitch. I'm partial to combining materials that don't normally go together, taking a traditional craft in a new direction.
