Diamonds in the Rough

Emilie Shapiro’s take on the classic diamond wedding band is one of deconstructed, casual elegance through recycled gold and rough gray diamonds. Sourced from Brazil, the responsibly mined, “conflict free” diamonds that Shapiro uses get their distinctive hue from high concentrations of hydrogen. Shapiro hand-selects these diamonds for their unique imperfections and incorporates them in her designs in their natural, uncut state. Using a lost wax method, she casts each of these “eternity” bands individually with gestural flair, embedding the circumference of smoky, crystalline stones in the setting with an organic embrace that follows their every contour. This ring celebrates the raw beauty of precious yet unrefined materials, making it a compellingly unique statement for weddings, anniversaries, or everyday indulgence. Handmade in New York.
