Deanna Bufo Novak is the author of My Heritage Book and ABCs Around the World and founder of kidsHeritage, Inc. She was inspired to write her unique children’s book shortly after the birth of her daughter. She wanted a tool to help her teach her daughter about her precious roots and the traditions that were important to both sides of her family. When she could not find one, her incredible journey began.
Originally from New York, Deanna received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications (Journalism and Sociology majors) from the University of Miami, received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University, where she served as Articles Editor on the Law Review, and received an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami. After receiving her LL.M., she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and later began her own law practice, where she concentrated on corporate and tax law. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since October of 2000 and served on the Board of Directors for the Fort Lauderdale/Broward Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Deanna was honored with the 2009-2010 NAWBO Spirit Award.
Deanna also authored an article titled Expose Your Child to Heritage; Teach Your Child Tolerance, which was published on www.newbaby.com and in Modern Babies and Children magazine, and two articles titled Lessons from Exploring Family Heritage and Exploring Cultural Diversity: Benefits for Your Child and Your Whole Family, which were published in The Parent Notebook Magazine. Her books have won numerous awards, including Book of the Year by Creative Child Magazine. She also has been quoted as an authority on the importance of teaching children about their heritage.
