To Order
Select the number of necklaces you would like from the drop down menu, click add to basket, and place your order. Then, just send an email to custom@uncommongoods.com with your name, phone number, order number and desired names to be engraved on the back of your necklace, up to 12 characters including spaces or dashes.
You will receive a mold kit with detailed instructions in order to complete the molds of your prints.
In the same package, you will receive an addressed mailer with postage paid so your completed prints can be sent to the artist. Please include your UncommonGoods packing slip in the envelope with your completed molds.
Your completed piece will be shipped to you 6-8 weeks after receipt of your mold.
Only ground shipping is available for the item. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Make Your Mark on My Heart
It's amazing the way a special friend or loved one can transform our lives. Each person touches our heart in a way that's as unique as a fingerprint.
These custom made, sterling silver pendants are a heartfelt way of honoring the mark that someone has made on your life. Order the pendant, and you will first receive a special kit with instructions for creating a fingerprint mold. Make one with your print to give to a friend, or one with your friend's print to keep for yourself - or both! All components are non-toxic, and the process is simple and safe.
You then mail that mold to the artist, who casts the pendant for you. Rather than using pewter, silver plate, or other lower quality materials, the final piece is finely crafted, solid sterling silver, and can be engraved on the back with a name or message (up to 10 characters including spaces and dashes).

Jackie Kaufman
Jackie Kaufman has spent much of the last 20 years as a multiple retail store owner. She has traveled all throughout the United States being the buyer for products these stores carried. During this time she took a 2 year course in Jewelry Casting and found her true calling, creating jewelry that is both organic looking and funky. She loves all aspects from the carving of each piece in wax to the melting of metals. She purchased all professional equipment, and set up a studio. Closing all of her retail locations, Jackie was able to make jewelry casting her full time profession. Her jewelry line has evolved in a very personal way. Inspired by her customers, she is able to have a connection with each one when creating her line of fingerprint and pet jewelry. The shipping back and forth is required, because each person has a unique fingerprint, and it's the best way for the artist to capture the intricate details of an individual's print. Far too high a price for sterling silver. Additionally, the metal will tarnish, requiring periodic polishing that may reduce the "fingerprint" definition over time.

Hi there, Voters! Voting is almost complete and we can't wait to see the results on this printed pendant! We just want to take a moment to address the process and the estimated cost. Since this is a very customized item (each person's fingerprint is truly unique), the artist needs to work from a mold. You'll get a special kit to make the mold yourself (a bonus if you're gifting this to a loved one), then you send the mold to her so she can create this beautiful necklace. The price not only includes the cost of the printing kit, it also factors in the artist's time and the cost of sterling silver, which is now at around $35/ounce. The artist then engraves the solid sterling silver with up to twelve characters, to further personalize this heartfelt keepsake. So, before time runs out, let us know: Do you love this silver heart?

I agree w/A. for all the reasons stated, but I still think this is a great concept and would invest my money in this if it were in platimum instead. I'd love to carry my child's fingerprint on my heart!
