Imagine Whorled Piece.

Nashville artist Lori Danelle creates stunning works of art with a personal touch. Using no more than a sheet of acid-free paper and a razor sharp craft knife, she captures the essence of a couple's unique relationship by carefully hand-incising each sheet with the unique contoured folds that pattern each partner's thumbprints. By perforating each piece by hand, that artist is able to magnify and replicate their one-of-a-kind prints in striking detail, giving them the delicacy and intricacy of fine lace.

A beautiful way to capture a couple's romantic bond, this custom-made artwork is finished with both partner's names and a heart cut into the space between their prints (equation) or the names and a special date below the prints (simple). Using her meticulous art making method, Lori crafts each print in a personalized double-portrait that serves as a reminder to embrace the little things that make the people we're close to uniquely wonderful. Handmade in Nashville.

Lori Danelle

Lori was first drawn to paper cutting because of the "insanity of it". Her attraction to this expressive art form is the simplicity. "One thing that I love is that all you need is a piece of paper, an X-acto knife, and a whole lot of patience." Lori invests about ten weeks worth of work on each piece in an effort to replicate her subjects' one-of-a-kind prints in painstaking detail. "When people see my work hanging on their wall, I hope it serves as a reminder to enjoy the little things in their day and to appreciate the uniquely beautiful people in their lives."
