Here is the absolute easiest way to fold a travel map: scrunch it up into a ball and stuff it in your pocket. Of course, with a regular paper map that only works a couple of times before it falls apart. That's why these crumpled city maps are so handy.
They're printed on durable, flash-spun hi-density polyethylene fibrous material. It's rip-resistant, waterproof, and thin enough that it crumples down into a ball that fits in your palm. Stuff it in your pocket, or use the included drawstring pouch, and you're ready to get back on the road. Maps available for New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Paris, London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona and Tokyo. Made in Italy.

Thanks for the question, Jan! You can write on this map using markers or highlighters. Once you mark the map with any kind of permanent ink, your markings will not rub off.

This is a cool, creative design. Apart from eliminating the frustration of deliberately re-folding a regular map back into place, this map offers its user the added bonus of quickly and nonchalantly crumbling the map back into the bag before anybody notices that he or she is a tourist.

Nobody uses maps anymore (except maybe for Venice because it's so difficult), but if a particular city had a meaning for someone this would be a cute gift. Low price helps!

this is a cute idea. i would get the tokyo for my daughter that is into anime an has tons of japanese friends. this is the "female way" to fold maps for sure! (or the pattern makers of america! they just iron the patterns flat after the crumpling! lol)

Cute, but meh... Too many people use their phones for GPS for this to be anything more than an amusing gift for someone who loves to travel.

Love it, great for travel. I hate messing with fold-out maps! However, I'd like to know the dimensions when it's crumpled in its pouch as well!

Thanks for the question, Maria! The pouch is 5 inches x 5 inches. When the map is crumpled and stuffed in the pouch it is around 1.25 inches thick.
