A tagine is the North African equivalent of a casserole - it describes both the dish and the food prepared in it. And, like a casserole, a tagine is that perfect combination of satisfying food and simple preparation.
Made from sturdy bisque clay and available with either a natural or rich blue finish, tagines have a unique conical lid that helps to distribute heat and moisture, for perfect chicken or stews. Handmade in Tunisia, Africa's northernmost country, at a factory that supports its artisans with positive working conditions and generous wages. Only food-safe glazes are used, and products have undergone independent testing to ensure the highest quality and safety.
