Heavy-Duty Seasoning

Ingeniously designed and plenty functional, this pair of handsome salt and pepper shakers bring sleek, industrial style to any tabletop. Crafted from a ceramic-like advanced concrete mix that's partially composed of recycled granite and marble dust sourced from the countertop and tile industry, each cork-based cellar is hand-molded and burnished before being treated with a double coat of food-safe linseed oil. And unlike S&P shakers of a more delicate composition, these beauties become even more durable with age while also developing a unique patina as the cement mixture continues to cure.

The silicone-ringed toppers fit snugly into the base of each cellar – you needn't remove them unless refilling – and adjustable apertures signified by embossed "+" and "-" signs allow users to evenly control the distribution of the salt and pepper. Handmade in Plum Island, Massachusetts.

Jordan Castro

The Culinarium product line is the manifestation of Jordan Castro's to create beautiful and meticulously crafted, hand-made products for cooking and entertaining.
Before starting Culinarium, Jordan had a business, which produced sculptural and architectural pre-cast concrete elements. While working on larger scale projects, he always wanted to develop a concrete mix that would be sophisticated enough to be used for much more diminutive and detailed wares like those that are now created at Culinarium. It took Jordan almost ten years of testing and tweaking to develop the mix that is now used. Indeed, it took a long time to develop the processes that is now employed, but as far as he is concerned, it was worth the wait!
Jordan has been working hard to produce concrete products that are durable, functional, and beautiful. He believes the heart & soul of any house is the kitchen, and enjoys bringing practical solutions to the home, which is what led him to design and craft Culinarium Kitchenware.
