Nima Oberoi

Indian-born designer Nima Oberoi is inspired by the artistically progressive city of her birth, Chandigarh, India. She is known for her contemporary designs that are luxurious yet affordable. In 1986, her fascination with world cultures brought her to the United States. Soon thereafter, the city of San Francisco became her new home. During the next few years, she established herself as a leading designer of fashion jewelry. Her innate talent and rich blend of cultural influences were apparent from the beginning, making her new venture an immediate success.

The rapid and positive response to her first home collection was only news of more good things to come. Nima soon saw the potential of applying her success in fashion jewelry into the realm of home decor and she has created a collection of contemporary designs that reflected a cosmopolitan and urban lifestyle while still being crafted in honest materials such as sensuous sand cast aluminum, tactile fabrics and glass beads.

It's evident that Nima's rich cultural past and adventurous spirit are present throughout her collections. Her use of clean lines intensified by surprising additions of whimsical details is an example of her philosophy; embrace life, like design with passion and whim. She breathes spirit and warmth into modernism, placing emphasis on passion and whimsy.

I love these, but I wouldn't pay that much money for it.

They appear to be well made, but still too pricey for a single plate!

I love these and I know what things cost!e, but they are entirely too expensive! I'm a ceramic studio owner and I know what things cost. These cheese pallettes are flat out a rip off.

Really cool! Love the design of the platter and the knife. Good colors as well. But way too pricey for just one.

Ridiculously expensive! cute as heck and great for parties, but if you wanted to host a party where people would be wandering around and needing to hold their plate you would need 10 guests. That is ten plates = $1200 on dishware.

Completely adorable, but I can't afford that. Even if I could, I don't think I'd spend that much.
