city skyline wooden routingby Dave Marcoullier $34.00
- the story
Dave Marcoullier is a nature-loving guy - he's a landscaper and a certified arborist. But he also happens to live in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District, and he has discovered how to combine his loves of nature and city life in these extraordinary wooden skyline panels.
Each panel captures an iconic skyline in deeply hued, solid walnut. Marcoullier drafts the designs on computer, and mills the image into the wood with a router. Finally he sands and finishes each one by hand. The areas representing the city retain the unaltered color of the wood, while the darker areas of the sky overhead are achieved with a natural teak oil stain. A hole is bored in the back for simple mounting. Handcrafted from sustainably harvested wood in San Francisco, CA.

- the maker
Dave Marcoullier is a certified arborist and landscape designer living in San Francisco's Mission District, and much of his work is an extension of these two disciplines.
His work is comprised of CNC routed solid hardwood wall hangings and cheese boards. He derives color variations and contrast by treating some areas with natural oil, while leaving other areas of wood untouched.
As no two wood grains are the same, each and every piece is unique. Dave takes pride in selecting only the finest grains, and orienting color, direction and striation to best compliment the context of the design.
