Say Cheese Keeper!
Despite its cheesy appearance, this hardworking cheese keeper is sure to do a "Gouda" job of keeping your favorite dairy product fresher, for longer. Simply place the white, earthenware keeper along with any hard or soft cheese in an airtight container (including plastic wrap). The food-safe clay has been fired at low temperatures, which gives it the ability to regulate the moisture around it, keeping your Romano from drying out or your Cheddar from getting mushy. Handmade in Canada.
- Item ID: 21058
- Materials: white earthenware clay
- Approx. 4" L x 6" W x .25 D, weight: approx. .6 lbs
- Dishwasher safe. Made from food safe clay.

The Cheese Keeper looks good enough to eat, but it's actually food-safe stoneware! We love the idea of keeping our favorite cheeses at their best. So, Cheese lovers, which of your favorite wedges would you use this handmade, moisture-balancing clay slice?

I'd love to have this - more than one, actually. I hate losing food to spoilage, especially good cheeses which can be pricey.

I love cheese, and want it to stay fresh - this one took me a minute to get too, but all in all and all quirks about the description aside - it's a ceramic slice of cheese! I love it!

Does this only work on wedges or will it work for deli cheese slices? If it does that should definitely be included in the description.

Hi Michelle! No reason the cheese keeper wouldn't work with sliced cheeses. Thanks for the idea!

I like the idea, but having several cheeses in my fridge now, I think the asking price is too high for each

Great idea and function, but the price is much too high. Doesn't seem worth $18.

I'm in to this. I've spent $25 and over on bricks of Parmigiana-Reggiano only to find a dried out impenetrable lump a couple of weeks. If this works as well as their bread warmer its value makes it well worth the price.

At first I thought this may be a little overpriced but if it really does prolong the freshness of the cheese and therefore creates less waste, then I would say it's fairly priced

I like that it works with any kind of cheese and just 'knows' what to do in keeping it fresh.

Great idea, but it's too expensive. I'd pay $5 to $10 for the functional value of this product, if it works as it promises.

Thank you for all of the great feedback on this stoneware slice! Voting is almost complete, and we're excited to find out whether the cheese keeper will be a fresh new good. Although this item is pretty dern cute, it's also practical. You can use it to serve warm cheese, or stick it in the container when storing cheese to balance moisture and keep your favorite wheels, wedges, and slices from getting dry or mushy.

Doesn't look large enough, or you'd have to serve a pretty darn small wedge of cheese.
