Vermont

Raised in rural Indiana, Beth Mueller now lives in Barre, Vermont, where she creates splendid hand-painted ceramic pieces.

Beth received a BA from Eckerd College. During here time there, she also worked at Studio Santa Reparata in Florence Italy, learning printmaking. Upon graduation, she served a two-year apprenticeship in the pottery studio of John Glick.

Her work is also influenced by the experience she gained before becoming a professional artist.

This road to becoming a full time studio artist included her work as a camp counselor, supervisor for a housing shelter, waitress, bartender and French teacher--not necessarily in that order.

She is inspired by capturing small snapshots of what she sees around her. "It all amazes me," she says. "All of these pieces relate in one way or another to some part of my life--a trip, a person--they are often little personal notes..."

Will need to be emptied frequently, which is actually a Good Thing, 'cause it will force us lazy types to not keep that stuff sitting in a pile around the kitchen

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

The jar itself is nice and substantial (was a little disappointed with the bee, I thought it had more black to it but it's almost completely yellow). Have to agree with other reviewers, the liner is pretty lame. It's very thin and needs a lip or a handle or something to help remove it when full.

[...] and looked exactly as pictured. the artwork is very simple and cute. my mom loves the gift however i was for sure thinking it would have a seal of some sort to keep smells in as food was collecting to be deposited into the compost

They only thing i could possibly say that is even close to negative is: at the very worst it may be ideal if it were a few inches larger in terms of diameter. It fills up quickly! However that aside, my fiance wanted one, i ordered it and she is very happy with it. Whatever it takes right?

Admittedly more attractive than the plastic vegetable bag that was being used, but not worth the price. It's basically a ceramic container with a lid and cheap insert.

Cute, but small and not very functional. My wife wanted it to store our compost before moving it to our compost bin... It fills up very quickly with any amount of cooking and not to mention the morning coffee grinds.

This is a very attractive container for counter-top storage of compost. The heavy lid keeps any smells in and inquisitive dogs out. Removable plastic insert for easy cleaning.

Comments about Ceramic Countertop Compost Container:

Much more attractive on the countertop than the empty coffee can that I had been using to collect kitchen scraps before burying them in my compost piles. Doesn't hold as much, though. The rough bottom may mar countertops if it's dragged across the counter. The lid has slipped from my wet fingers as I've tried to lift it to add scraps.
