A nature lover herself, artist Caia Koopman often finds inspiration for her work from the natural world and uses her illustrations to make provocative statements about humans relationship with animals and nature.
Avian Spiel (blonde) is about giving birds and other animals a voice. The illustration features a rose-breasted grosbeak that appears to be talking. If we actually listened, we would probably hear his fears about habitat destruction, global warming and endangered species.
Dalia (red head) is about connections and our symbiotic relationship with nature that we often don't pay attention to.
