        Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

I gifted this product to my sister and her family for Christmas last year, and they love it! She has three children under all under the age of 8, so they had fun making the butter (especially since they had just finished reading "Little House on the Prairie" together as a family---what are the chances?!) and have said only great things about it.

            Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

My family has made butter the night before Thanksgiving for over 50 years using my grandmother's butter churn with wooden paddles. I bought this churn thinking it would help but the rubber paddles aren't strong enough to complete the butter to the right consistency.

              Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

Fun to use. The butter was delicious! Instructions easy to follow. One pint of heavy whipping ($3.29 organic) makes about a stick + a little bit more of butter. Used the buttermilk to make pancakes. Special occasions only due to cost of heavy cream.

Goes very quick if cream is at a warm room temperature. Add salt after pouring off buttermilk and use buttermilk for scones. Yum.

                      Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

My 10 yr old daughter saw this in the Uncommon Goods catalogue and fell in love! This isn't her typical interest, so I was hesitant, but ordered it for her as it was the very top of her Christmas list! She loves it! It's very well made and we have made multiple batches of delicious homemade butter. In fact, we had to move on to giving the butter as gifts because she wanted to make more than our family was able to eat! It's certainly a novelty and I would recommend it!

                        Comments about UncommonGoods Butter Churner:

I bought this to have something to do with my 7-year-old grandson after school. It's so good, I've used it many times -- sometimes with him and sometimes myself. Buy a pint of heavy whipping cream from the grocery store, let it sit out on the kitchen counter for a couple of hours (the instructions say room temp cream works best), pour it into the churner, place the cap on top, and turn the crank. We take turns, but the mechanism is so smooth and easy that it doesn't even tire me out. NOTE: Children need supervision because their tendency to crank as fast and as hard as they can might result in spillage while churning -- regular, steady turning is best. In about ten minutes, butter appears! You'll know when it's done when you can't turn the crank any more. Drain the buttermilk to use later in biscuits or pancakes. I add a dash of salt to the butter (not too much) when it's finished and mix it in. Easy clean-up -- I wash the top under running water in the sink and the jar goes in the dishwasher. I would buy this product again.
