Hop To It!

Starting with an enchanting idea jotted in his sketchbook, artist Mark Poulin transformed this teensy doodle into a darling glass pendant featuring a speed-loving rabbit and her bicycle. Mark's fun-loving bunny allows you to make a smile-inspiring statement about your taste in original accessories and your top mode of transportation. Each spirited illustration is screen printed on hand-cut rose tinted glass, kiln fired until smooth and suspended from a sterling silver chain and leaf-accented bail (the leaf viewable on back of pendant). Handmade in Oakland, CA.

Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

Mark Poulin

Raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts, artist Mark Poulin headed west to live in California. He soon discovered the Oakland Recreational Center, where he received his art education, and began sketching constantly. Now his simple line drawings are finding their way into his jewelry. "It looks like cute is here to stay!" he says.

"When I think a piece is finished, I let is sit for a couple of days without peeking at it, then I give it another look to see if I can take it further. But most times, I edit it down to simplify the piece...Less is more."

"Making the Zodiac 'cute' was a tough but fun project," he says. "With all those horned animals and crustacea, it took a few tries to make them sweet and contemporary." Mark is an Aquarius, the water bearer, which he interpreted as a bear sitting in a bucket of water. "Like most Aquarians, I can see the future."

Mark lives in Oakland, California and has an addiction to playing Facebook Scrabble.

We love Mark Poulin's uncommon designs! This little bunny hopped from the pages of his sketchbook right into his latest jewelry creation. Should she hop into our assortment before cycling season's in full swing?

Cost is to high for something that seems appropriate for a young girl.

Looks like something an 8 or 9 year old might wear.

I like it, but $42 for a pendant?

Vote: Thumbs down!

I've seen similar products elsewhere at a cheaper price. Sorry.

Glad you like the Bunny on a Bike, Emilie! The price also includes the sterling silver chain and bail.

Just not my style.

I feel that the price is a bit high for the size and it being glass. I feel that $34 would be more appropriate.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Seems childish.

Cute and different. Like that it comes with a chain. Very whimsical.

Adoreable! My college aged daughter would love it. She has a pet bunny and loves bike riding.

Cute but not in an ironic enough way for me.

love it. I would love to see more animals on bikes. Could you do a hedgehog?

Vote: Thumbs down!

cute, too much money

Vote: Thumbs up!

Too pricey. Looks like a cute gift for a young girl.

Delightful, but pricey. The "leaf-accented" bail is one of the very cheapest to get and is usually made of base metal. That is disappointing considering the cost do the piece and the silver chain.

How cute is this? Would love to have.

Vote: Thumbs down!

This is cute and I'm happy that it's made in the USA, however I find the price to be a bit too high.

Vote: Thumbs up!

Super cute, but a bit spendy.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Love bunnies but I don't get excited when I see this. Maybe as an art print to put on the walls, but not to wear as a necklace.

Vote: Thumbs up!

Might even be better if this came with a set of earrings. The price is just to high when I saw it. However the price might be more accurate if it was paired with earrings.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Who would wear this? Too few people or children.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Looks very juvenile.

Vote: Thumbs up!

I think it is cute, but perhaps a bit lower price point.

Vote: Thumbs down!

I just don't get this

Vote: Thumbs up!

It's a little pricey, but still very cute. You should have a larger assortment of pastel colors i.e., yellow, blue, and green.
