Handmade in Philadelphia by Jim Loewer, each glass suncatcher is unique in its colors and organic concentric rings. Hang it in a window, use it as an artistic touch hanging anywhere else or add to the rainbow of bouncing light and display them all in a group. Handmade of borosilicate glass in Philadelphia.

Jim Loewer

Jim Loewer is an artist by day and a law student by night. Raised in Columbia, SC he now resides in Philadelphia. His glass blowing is primarily self taught through a process of trial and error. He loves the relatively instant gratification that comes with blowing glass.

Loewer has an undergraduate degree in painting from the University of California and a teaching degree from the University of South Carolina. He taught school for 4 years before devoting himself full time to glass. He focuses on contemporary organic forms influenced by Japanese craft and the American studio glass movement. His studio is in North Philadelphia in the old Atlas building, which also houses various other artists and craftspeople. collection
