It's been interesting reading the comments here, and I would like to address just a couple of things brought up:- The chain (which is high quality sterling made in the USA) is 20" long.- The wire is not scratchy- The price is a reflection of the precious metals market and the fact that this is handmade in the USAThe main complaint I've seen on all the silver jewelry here at UG is price. Please go look up the precious metals market an see how prices have more than doubled in the last year (and still seem to be rising).And please, do not compare items made of high quality material in the USA to items made with cheap material in countries where workers are not paid at the same rate.But hey, if you think it's tacky then you're entitled to your opinion. :)Thanks,Ellen
