Learning by observing, Jay Jones is not a formally trained artist. When it comes to his designs, he credits a mechanical aptitude and artistic sense. Though he's been a designer and builder for more than thirty five years and has created thousands of works, he only now feels that he's beginning to understand his chosen mediums and is always eager to learn more.
His work is in private collections around the world and was selected to be auctioned in New York at Christie's to benefit the National Design Museum.
"I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some amazing artists in New York such as Robert Rauschenberg as well as others. You never know where inspiration will come from, so I'll keep observing and creating."
