Sleep Tight

Surprise the proud new parents with a pillow that celebrates the newest addition to their family. Inspired by mass transit systems' vintage "roll-stop" and subway signs from the 1920s and '30s, Lori Bloom's personalized cushions commemorate the child's birth in regal, old-world style. Each custom printing featuring the child's name, birthday, time, weight, location, inches at birth, his or her parents' names. Handmade in New York.

Sold separately.

Exclusively at UncommonGoods.

Artist Lori Blum has more than 15 years experience in the decorative pillow business. Inspired by her two-year-old labradoodle, Charlie, and her recently adopted Manx cat, Scout, she decided to launch a line of handmade, eco-friendly, pet-themed pillows.

She started by creating the designs for her own home, then "family and friends began to ask about custom pillow featuring their pets' names," she says.

Now the collection includes many styles to celebrate man's best friends. "Charlie and Scout have since asked for royalties," she jokes.
