A Tweet Treat
Inspired by the birds, gardens and woodland creatures that filled her childhood, Tasha McKelvey created these adorable stoneware dishes that stole the show at UncommonGoods' Ceramics Challenge. Each palm-sized dish is hand-pressed with a weathered, century-old barn door to give it a faux bois texture, imitating the distinct grain of aged wood. Bisque fired pieces are then glazed and high-fired in an electric kiln. Although these petite dishes are prefect for holding rings and other small jewelry, they also provide a sweet spot to rest your spoon after stirring your morning coffee. Made in the USA.

I'm not a fan of open jewelry storage - something else to dust or else the jewelry gets crudy feeling, but the spoon rest idea appeals to me and the dishes are just too cute.

Absolutely adorable! Yes, a little larger would be more practical, but would purchase just the same. And yes, please carry the mushroom dish as well. They all remind me of my childhood, walking in the woods with my family, picking mushrooms and bird-watching. Can't wait to get a set for my sister as well.
