Got You Covered

Using only the natural warmth of your hands, these reusable storage sheets mold to fit any bowl or container, as well as perishable items with irregular shapes, such as blocks of cheese or sliced vegetable. The sheets are made from a cotton-hemp fabric blend that is infused with a combination of beeswax, tree resin, and jojoba oil that is left to cure overnight. The finished sheet is antibacterial, air-and water-resistant and can be used for up to a year. Simply rinse, reshape, and fold it over any object to keep your food fresh. Made in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Toni Desrosiers has a modest goal: she's out to change the world by saving as much food as she can food. In 2008, the nutritionist-turned-inventor was struck with inspiration when she realized for thousands of years, humans have turned to nature for ways of prolonging the life of our food. She’s on a mission to promote the powers of beeswax and get natural and reusable food storage into kitchens worldwide. She hopes her success will encourage other “ecopreneurs” to move ahead with their innovative world changing ideas.

Comments about UncommonGoods Beeswax Food Saving Wrap:

This is my first use of this product. I bought the variety pack. I have used it on a cucumber and cut head of cabbage. It doesn't stay tightly folded around the vegetable, but the sections of the vegetable that it does cover have stayed fresh longer than if using ziplock bags or clear plastic wrap! It stays tighter around veggies if you secure sheets with a rubber band. I would like to see more sizes offered. Otherwise I will buy the largest size so that it can be used with different size/ shaped vegetables. I haven't had to wash sheets yet, so I can't comment on cleaning and reusing sheets. It looks disposable, so it would be easy to accidentally throw a sheet in the trash. Having the word 'reusable" printed right on the sheets might prevent accidental disposal. I would buy it again and I do recommend it, but next time I will buy larger sheets.

I am using my beeswax wrap for cheese. It seems to be working very well. The edges of the cheese are as if I just cut it.
