Beer In Mind

Don't let your knowledge of lagers, ales, porters, and stouts go flat every time you step up to the tap! Pair this petite and practical beer diary and pen with any draft, cask, bottle, can, or growler to drink in every last detail long after you've finished the final drop. Designed to be stowed in your bag, purse, or pocket, this streamlined pen and notebook set packs a high-design punch and possess an extra special edge: real hops or a few drops of ale impart the notebook's ink and the pen's resin with its characteristic golden hue.

Identify and fill in the essentials as you knock one back, as well as a rating out of five stars, and the way it was served. A flavor wheel helps you identify bitterness, body, flavor notes, and more. Once filled, this smaller-than-pint-sized journal holds every ounce of detail from your 33 most recent brews and serves as an invaluable reference for both connoisseurs and casual sippers.

Pen handmade with resin tinted and textured with hand-crushed hops by Merrie Buchsbaum in Connecticut. Notebook made out of 100% recycled paper and printed using U.S.-grown soy-based inks in Portland, Oregon. (The beer-colored ink on the cover contains a few drops of Eastern Oregon-Brewed Cascadian Dark Ale.)

Merrie Buchsbaum & Dave Selden

Artist Merrie Buchsbaum and bookmaker Dave Selden's pen and book sets were inspired by life's little luxuries--wine, coffee, beer, whiskey, and even cheese. Merrie makes her pens by hand in Connecticut with resin tinted and textured with a special blend of natural dyes and authentic dried and ground ingredients. Dave's notebooks are made out of 100% recycled paper and printed using U.S.-grown soy-based inks in Portland, Oregon. The colored inks printed on the covers contain a bit of each respective book's thematic ingredient.
