Puppy Love

Bringing colorful life to everyday pets, this collage by Allison Gray was created by affixing vibrant printed papers to a simple cardboard background and then mounted on canvas. Working in an animal shelter, Allison was saddened by the negative stereotypes that surrounded shelter pets and so-called "bully breeds" like pit bulls and Rottweiler's. Wanting to shed light on their loyal and affectionate personalities, she created this lovely series, showcasing soulful portraits in a collage of vibrant colors and flowing typography. This is a print of Allison's original collage. Made in Pennsylvania, printed in Oregon.

Love the fact you would promote something "uncommon" , like a pit bull. Have have two rescues who I adore and am always looking for something to portray how loyal, funny, loving, and strong they are. Thank you! This makes me think of my Stella and Tipper!

The contrast in Allison's piece caught our eye, but the story behind it captured our heart. Check out the product story to learn more about "Babe," then let us know whether this collage has your vote.

Wouldn't want to meet it in a darkened hallway hanging at eye level, not with those eyes! And pink? Don't think so! Sorry :-)

Thumbs up! What a ridiculous thing to say Kori! I love this painting. Fantastic dog and fantastic reason to educate

I loved enlarging this piece and realizing it was a collage, which makes it even more impressive! The choice of pink is such a surprise that also pulls your heart in. Great work!

I disagree with Kori..If this was a painting of a Golden Retriever she wouldn't be saying that. Proves that people have preconceived notions about Pit Bulls which are totally false. All the ones I know are truly sweethearts!

I disagree with Kori...If this was a painting of a Golden Retriever she would probably love it. It just proves that people have preconceived judgements toward the pit bull breed. All the ones I know are total sweethearts!

I love everything about this piece. Especially the use of a dainty floral pattern on a face of strength...so cool.

I dont like the breed of dog or colors selected. I have seen this type of art before.

I like collage art, and I think she did a great job here. I wouldn't hand this piece on my wall, but I'd be interested to see other works of hers.

I'm a total dog lover, and I appreciate the message in this piece, but it's kinda sad and desperate. Doesn't put the breed in the most lovable light.

              Christine

Kori, Cheryl and Eileen, your preconceived notions are a shame. Love the pink and words "love" in the background. Anyone who knows pit bull terriers truly know what lovebugs they are.

              Beverly

I have to agree with Christine's comments. When my neighbor's first move in they had a pit bull and I was a bit wary since I had not been around that breed before. I had German Shepherds. Pits are some of the sweetest dogs I have been around! You must remember any dog behavior comes from the owner and how they are treated!
