Off the Cuff
Patterned after a Swiss astrology calendar from the 1900s, this charmed brass cuff helps you look to the stars with style. Artist Julie Nolan puts a personal spin on each sign, hand-stamping constellations into elegant patterns that span the width of each piece. The larger holes in the pieces represent the brightest stars in the sky. Handmade in Brooklyn.
Choose from the 12 classic astrological signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Sagittarius Pictured. Sold individually.

Julie Nolan
Making a name for yourself in the jewelry business isn't easy, especially in New York, but Julie Nolan has not only survived but thrived in the fashion-obsessed metropolis that's overflowing with so much innovation. Designing for ten years, Nolan began her formal training halfway through with a course in fundamental jewelry techniques. After that, she apprenticed under Hannah Clark and then Randi Mates of Aesa Jewelry. It wasn't until Nolan started her own line in 2009, and sold her work at street fairs, that she experienced what she described as "character building."
With those days now behind her, Nolan has sold pieces to more than a dozen stores across the country and has forged more than a few high-end lines. With her new-found success and an interest in ancient texts and calendars, she has perfected her line of astrological pendants for all to enjoy and cherish.

I am always intrigued by Julie's unique designs and cannot wait to see what she comes up with next. I own many of Julie's pieces and love them all.

It's pretty and a cool idea. I feel like it's a little expensive but with the hand stamping and the brass I can understand why.

Would be nice if there was more to it for the price, but it is a very nice idea.

I like the concept but this is hardly original. Also, I wouldn't want brass.

I think the price could be lowered a bit. I also like the idea of this as a necklace.

It's so funny that this is Swiss because it looks like Swiss cheese!! No way!

This bracelet would be very hot during the summer and very cold during the winter, especially in one of the northern states that gets wind chills of down to 130 degrees below 0.

It's an interesting idea, but the material is no good. Brass and Copper are'dirty' metals. They feel dirty and creat a patena quickly which comes of on your skin and clothes. Something this simple could easily be done in silver.

interesting concept. I like the look of the brass. Would it tarnish?
Kathleen
I like it and think it is more unusual as a cuff bracelet. Never saw a astrology bracelet before...Uncommom!

Not into the brass - a nice oxidized silver would be better. Would also prefer a necklace
Angela

not sure about the brass

$50 for a brass band is steep. $30 is more reasonable

The cuff style would be nice for a guy. I would prefer it in a necklace form. But I would only pay about half this price.

Thanks for your questions and comments! We're glad to see that so many of you love this unique design! There are a few comments about this bracelet being made of brass. Although brass can tarnish, the metal can be polished if you want to avoid the more patinaed look. Keep in mind that sterling silver does tarnish as well, and like many fine jewelry pieces, you may want to shine these cuffs from time-to-time to keep them looking new.

You can't even tell what the constellation is. You just paid $50 for a bracelet with random holes.
Jenny
Overpriced for a clunky cuff. People with hairy arms would just end up with hair poking up out of the holes!

I enjoy funky jewelry and this item would be a good conversation piece as well.

Lacks a wow factor especially for fifty dollars would have like to seen more colors to tie in the astrology

Simple, but says a lot. If it means something to the person wearing it-that's good enough for me.

Brass jewelry.. so it will turn weird colors, plus smell nasty.. not a good choice for jewelry material.

I'm all about astrology - love it! The thing is most would not understand the bracelet with a simple glance. If the whole bracelet showed things the way we see the sun and so forth then I think it would be more recognizable and more trendy.

While a little expensive, this is a beautiful handmade gift for someone special. It has to be someone who would appreciate it, but i would see this selling as a necklace or a bracelet.

A bit expensive -- but it is made of brass which is not cheap I would bet. I like it, I think it is a neat idea! A necklace would be fun too, but I do not see how it would fit on a necklace? I would buy it.

Not attractive and doesn't seem to get the message across.

I expect that much of the price is for the concept which someone has to be told to "get" - kinda loses the ability to impress people you meet if they don't see anything but a brass cuff
Stephanie
maaaybe if I were into astrology
denise
not attractive, maybe if you are into astrology

Awesome!
