Katie Forte’s childhood was filled with skinned knees, mosquito bites, penny loafers, and an extremely large family of opposites. Often found building forts in the woods, helping her grandma in the garden, or selling her uncle’s sweet corn by the road, she happily continues many of those same traditions today. Prior to founding her studio with her husband, Nick, Katie worked as an art director for a large Detroit agency. She spends her free time collecting moments, vintage clocks and typography, experimenting with different mediums, snail hunting quests with her children, and getting lost in really good books. Katie’s designs explore the harmony between rustic and refined while striving to find a balance between multiple mediums. She combines her hand-drawn illustrations, graphic designs, original patterns, and typography in creating her artwork.
