What Is It Good For?

Serving a very different function on this tour of duty, a vintage ammunitions box is re-imagined as a rustic wine rack. Dating from the 1960s to the 1970s, the box seems custom made for its more peaceful responsibility of caring for your bottles of vintage reserve. Openings cradle the bottlenecks, allowing for proper side storage, as the aged wood of the trunk brings an eclectic element to your home. Manufactured in Canada.

Anne Lapierre and Bruno Chouinard created the Boites de la paix (Peace Boxes) by diverting military objects from their original life into objects of hope.

Boites de la paix are a vehicle of their values, a significant artistic gesture for peace and an environmentally-smart object dedicated to life and its pleasures.

The two artists live in Montreal and pursue a multidisciplinary artistic career in utilitarian art, visual arts and films.
