Special Collection

In a museum gallery, you are invited to get a close-up glimpse of the wonders of art and nature. This extraordinary tray offers up its own masterpiece—a dazzling disk of brilliant, translucent agate—mounted in an exhibit-style case, and set to work serving drinks or hors d'oeuvres. Made from clear acrylic with chrome handles, this chic piece of functional art will be prized showpiece at any social gathering.

Agate is a semiprecious stone formed deep under the earth when silica-laden groundwater passes through air pockets in cooling lava. The ancient Babylonians, Egyptians, and Greeks all held the belief that agate possessed the power to protect its owners from evil and danger, and that it also produced delightful dreams. Stone quarried in Brazil; tray made in China.

Unfortunately, this item cannot ship outside of the United States at this time.

Beautiful agate is front and center in these beautiful, functional serving trays. What would you present on the Portata Tray?

Vote: Thumbs down!

I like the idea of it, but it's lacking something. It's like a beautiful piece of art in a cheap frame. It looks like a hospital tray with a nice stone stuck in it.

Vote: Thumbs up!

very earthy I like it.

Vote: Thumbs down!

without an edge, whatever you put on it will slide off :(

Vote: Thumbs down!

Dyed agate in cheap looking frame

Vote: Thumbs down!

I think it would be easy for things to slide off, and I don't like the handles.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Great idea with a lovely aesthetic. I gave it a thumbs-down because I'd be reluctant to buy it since it's made of acrylic and from China.

Vote: Thumbs up!

Very cool. I want blue or purple agate!!

Vote: Thumbs down!

This looks clunky and awkward to carry. Plus it's made in China.

Vote: Thumbs down!

This doesn't look practical and I'm not wild about the design either. I would pass on this one.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Food items on Chinese plastic, no thank you!!

Vote: Thumbs down!

Why is made in china all I'm seeing to vote on?

Vote: Thumbs down!

Weird looking

Vote: Thumbs down!

the tray and the stone don't seem to go together

Vote: Thumbs down!

I wouldn't buy it

Vote: Thumbs down!

Looks like it is trying too hard to look stylish.

Vote: Thumbs down!

The agate is beautiful (but I can't help but wonder if it has been dyed), but the tray itself would scratch quickly and the handles just don't go at all.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Not at all appealing.

Vote: Thumbs down!

Natural agate is beautiful, doesn't need color added. Agree that it is impractical as a tray.

Vote: Thumbs down!

maybe you just need a better picture?

Vote: Thumbs down!

Needs edging.

Vote: Thumbs up!

I don't like the handles on the top...

not practical

Vote: Thumbs down!

I like the idea, however I don't like the plastic. Others have commented that it looks cheap and I agree.

Vote: Thumbs down!

It's made in China, need I mention they have no EPA standards (nor any compassion for other sentient beings)!

Vote: Thumbs down!

Seems to specific

Vote: Thumbs up!

Used the right way, could be an interesting conversation piece.

Vote: Thumbs down!

just don't like the look of but lover agates..so figure???

Vote: Thumbs down!

Oh no! The design makes no sense and it's made in China :(
