Graham Bergh

In 1991, Graham Bergh was riding his bike to his recycling job when he got a flat. Being a savvy recycler, he took the inner tube and made a cradle for his stereo speakers. For the next three years, he tinkered with repurposing used bike parts, and in 1994 started Resource Revival.

Every year, this team of bicycle craftsmen collects thousands of pounds of used parts, drawing from bike shops nationwide, and revives them into home accents like bottle openers, frames and clocks.

"We envision a sustainable future where commerce flourishes in a world powered by renewable energy, and where consumers are conscious of the origin of the food they eat, the energy they consume and the products they buy," says Graham. "Buying recycled products 'closes the loop' and helps keep used parts out of landfills." collection

Artist Graham Bergh has brought us some great bike products in the past (check out his artist bio by clicking on the link under the product story to learn more). We love that this piece is stylish, functional, and practical. Are you geared up to hang your necklaces and earrings from this mirror?

The groves provide more than the normal amount of space to hang!

It's all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out ...

Wonderful aethetically and practical-wise, as well!

Really like the clean and sporty yet classy design. A little worried about rings/necklace chains/dropped earrings getting caught in the gaps in the base.

too gaudy and bulky looking.

Looks like a big, sharp wheel. A little too much...

I don't see this appealing to too many women. Not very pretty.

Christine

What if the Chains get tangled in the middle of the Back and Front blade?

Really unique! I love it.

would get tired of quickly.

A little pricey, but such a fun idea!

This is really cool! I would love if it came painted in different colors!

Seem to be marketing to women (reference all the jewelry), but I doubt this would fit into the decor of many women's bedroom. It's a guys thing at best, but they wouldn't spend this much.

love that it is recycled! price is a little high tho.

Cute - like recycled things - but not my style.

Very cool. Seems a bit expensive. Would make a great gift for dresser-top of discerning males, too.

The idea is awesome! The price? Notsomuch. I just can't afford that kind of pricing on something frivolous!

Robyn

I don't care for the "tough-ness" of the look of gears. Seems to be more apt for a garage, not my delicate jewelry

Thumbs up for making this in the USA and the price is affordable. However...I don't associate "machine" type women wearing much jewelry. Although I'm a girly girl but I do love cars so there are some girls out there that might love this!

much to bulky and priced to high

Why are they pre-consumer recycled? Is their a defect in them that would cause them not to be used for bikes otherwise? Because, if they could still be used for bikes, are they really being recycled (in an environmentally friendly sense?)

Angela

When I think of jewelry, I think of pretty things...this is not pretty.

Yay for recycling!

It isn't pretty. Sorry, but jewelry deserves a little better!

If this is made from "pre-consumer parts," how are we saving the earth by buying it?

Jacquelynn

$65 to hold five pairs of dangle earrings? Cute idea, but not practical.

Fran

I really like it; functional but funky.

Super cool and attractive, made in the USA!!!

Hello, Voters! We're sorry about the delay in getting you more information on the recycled nature of this product, and we're happy to answer your questions! According to the artist, the rim portion of this holder comes from used bicycles - so it is post-consumer. The chainring portions are pre-consumer, because the chainrings have not been used for bicycles. Although these parts were deemed unfit for building bikes, they make great jewelry holders, so Graham and co. rescued the unsaleable chainrings from the scrap heap and turned them into the lovely creation shown here!

Some will like this design and usage, but I find it too unwieldy and unesthetically pleasing.

mary
Vote: Thumbs down!

Really ugly -- and not even slightly femine.

Jenny

I like this idea quite a lot. I'm just not a fan of mirrors or lots of jewelry.

I like the modern edginess of it!! (plus, I already have the small gear desk clock, which is another great conversation piece..and I'm not even a gearhead..just love modern, different and aesthetically pleasing!!)

so when my cat jumps up and rubs against it what happens? when my 5yr old niece finds it interesting and pulls down on herself....oh and yeah, what is the decorating style, early Edward Scissorhands?

This thing would fill up entirely too quickly with earrings. How many of us stick to only 5 pairs of only dangle earrings?? The rest is great for necklaces, but that's a lot of draping things over each other. All in all, it would end up a mess!

Jane
Vote: Thumbs down!

Only 5 pairs of earrings?? That's hardly organizing my jewelry box. Cute idea, but need to hold more. Too expensive for what it doesn't do.

I could actually see this in a guy's house too.

Not my style, but I could use a more traditional one
