You've Met Your Mismatch

These cozy, colorful socks are a perfect mismatch: Sharing the same hues and the same pattern, each sock exchanges colors for a chromatically congruous take on the classic case of mismatched socks. The color arrangements will vary for each sock. Really...life's too short for matching socks. Knit and hand finished in Vermont by Marianne Wakerlin. The yarns are recycled cotton, dyed without the use of harmful chemicals.

MarianneWakerlin

Marianne Wakerlin, the Socklady is the founder and owner of Solmate Socks. The company is named after her mom, Sunny, who taught Marianne how to knit when she was nine years old. Marianne continued a life long enthusiasm for knitting, but it wasn't until she started knitting socks that her real passion was born.

Within a few years Marianne had knit over one hundred pairs of socks for family and friends, and she decided to turn her hobby into a business. Her colorful and complex patterns are knit in the USA at a family owned knitting mill, hand finished and then "mismatched with care."

Crafted with care in the USA from recycled cotton. Her yarns are created by recovering the scraps from the production of other cotton products, mainly t-shirts. All of the little cotton scraps are gathered together and ground up so that they can be re-spun into "new" yarn. The yarns are then knit into her colorful socks. These recycled yarns are certified to be free from harmful substances (i.e. toxins like formaldehyde), made with respect for the environment and with respect for human rights.

The company is run in a small town in central Vermont, where the Socklady and all her helpers are surrounded and inspired by the woods, brook, gardens and hills of the countryside. collection
