Artist Herbert Hoover takes a different approach to take-out. He makes it into artwork. This life-size replica is a hand cast pewter fortune cookie complete with a paper fortune. Reminiscent of Andy Warhol's pop art sculptures, Hoover's fortune cookie is a witty take on cuisine and culture. Made in New York City. Each cookie is individually sealed in cellophane and packaged in a take out box. Choose from two fortunes, "You are irresistible" or "You are about to embark on a most delightful journey."
Hand cast in New York City.

My friend and I love chinese food and this was a great little gift for the office to remember our many nights of chinese food. I even added my own fortune in it with the one that came.

I purchased this as the prelude to a gift bundle. Wrote a custom fortune and presented it as the first gift. In short, it was a pretty expensive greeting card, but one that was well received and and will be cherished.

It's the perfect gift for any artist or foodie! My best friend absolutely loved it, and says he'll think of all of our late night study sessions over chinese food, whenever he uses it to hold down papers at his new teaching job!

Comments aboutHAND CAST PEWTER FORTUNE COOKIE:
I was disappointed that the cookie came in a box that couldn't be opened without ripping the sticker off the top (and thus ripping the box). As this was a gift, i didn't want to damage the box. I have no idea what the cookie looked like, or if the fortune was inside (because there was one attached to the handle on the outside). Sad too, because i wanted to tuck a little gift certificate in the box. It was much too small for that purpose.

Comments aboutHAND CAST PEWTER FORTUNE COOKIE:
I was more excited to see it online. I bought it as a gift and I think it looks pretty cool, I was just underwhelmed that I paid [$] for a pewter cookie. I was disappointed that the fortune was just a flimsy piece of paper- in that case, I wish it were possible to write your own message instead of the limited ones they offered. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

Comments aboutHAND CAST PEWTER FORTUNE COOKIE:
This is the cutest thing EVER (especially if you have someone that loves Chinese food). It comes in a little Chinese take-out box, which is white. It also has red tissue paper inside, with a plastic-sealed silver cookie. The fortune is in the cookie! There's also one stapled around the metal handle, but it's an extra and can be removed.
The -only- con to this product is the label on the bottom of the box. It's hard to remove (if you're like me, you like to remove labels before you give a gift).
Service & Delivery comments:
I got mine in about 3 days. The packaging was a little much for the size of the item, but it the shipping box makes a great re-gift box! It was packaged inside layers of protective cardboard packaging stuff, so there was no damage to the item. Shipping costs are a little high, in my opinion.
