This handsome appetizer platter is ideal for entertaining and stunning in its natural beauty. Each tray is made from the stump of Shan Mu fir trees from the mountains of Central China. Artisans hollow the stumps, sand them to a smooth finish, and seal them to be food safe. Throughout this process, the artisans strive to maintain the unmistakable touch of nature. This appetizer tray features five shallow compartments for olives, crackers, chips, cheese, veggies, fruit or other party food.
Each is one-of-a-kind and will vary. Food safe, but not intended to use for hot items. Made in China.

I'd love to say more about this product, but the one I ordered for my mom for Christmas broke [...] Before I realized it was broken, I was surprised at how large and beautiful it was, though. It's even better than the picture. My mom loves the shape of it. She told me that if she doesn't love the new one as much as the broken one, she's going to send it back and glue the broken one!!
Service & Delivery comments:
My delivery was on time, but the platter was broken. It was December 23rd. I immediately called customer service. The rep was apologetic and helpful. She said she'd send out a return label and a replacement immediately. However, as of January 3rd, I (or rather, my mom, since I had to leave to return home) have not received either.

It's a beautiful piece, but the large compartment had a hole in it. All the way through. My husband said, just put crackers there. I didn't send it back, but I think it's a flaw and it will always bother me. He found it rustic.

I was very excited to find this platter only to be very disappointed when I received it. The platter was splintered and just a mess. I understand that it's hand made out of wood and each is different but this was not presentable at all, especially for the price :(
