I buy birthday gifts for our many clients. After finding out that one particular client in New York was an avid gardener, I set out to find something to "green" up her desk. The only rule was that it had to be under $50.\n\nHer response to receiving this gift was outrageous. She called, ecstatic about the In Vitro Orchid. This gift is wonderful for garden lovers who are living or working in limited space.

I gave this orchid to my grandmother in Iowa about a year ago, for her birthday. She is an avid gardner and loves all things flowers. Naturally, she loved the idea of this, and love to watch it grow.\n\nIt did take a while to start to show any signs of growth, but after a few months, the leaf finally reached the top of the cork. She visited her local garden center to get advice on transplanting, and what material to use. They had never seen anything like it, and were amazed. \n\nOne year later, the little orchid that could is on its way to surviving another cold Iowa winter.\n\nThe only thing we wish we could change about this, would be further instructions on what to do once it needs to be transplanted. Orchids are very delicate, and it took a little research on how to ensure it would survive the move.
