Part of the husk is removable, revealing a pair of beautifully polished chestnuts inside. Like their natural counterparts, each sculpture is slightly different, a unique piece to be treasured by any nature lover. The detail is fantastic! I collect art pieces with a botanical theme. I have never seen anything quite like it. It does have pointy spines so delicate handling is a must. I have it displayed on a tiered shelf unit with plants and other ceramics. VERY COOL!

This is an oddity: a piece of glazed porcelain surrounded by metal, with extremely sharp spikes. The whole is very lifelike on first glance. The workmanship is excellent; the British artisans are first-class.
