Not for true Braille readers

I gave this to my wife, who is a Braille reader. She was disappointed by it because it is not correct Braille. It uses a "Braille" heart shape in place of the word love, which is not something a real Braille writer would do. Also, it is written vertically down the pendant, which is never done in Braille, because it makes it impossible to read, since the cells are no longer aligned in right way.

Gets braille out there, but not well

This gets the word out, but the braille isn't correct! The dots are so close together, no blind person could ever read this with their fingers without being told what it says.

Also, the silver should be backed properly. The designer should solder a back to it to make it more substantial.

UncommonGoods Response: From the artist: This necklace was designed over 10 years ago and has been in the line the entire time. During that time period, we have sold it to two different Blind Institutes as well as blind customers themselves. We have also been involved with donating the item to several fund-raising events that benefit the blind, including a Special Olympics event.
I do understand that the dots might be slightly close to one another, but after all, it is a piece of jewelry and the size is an issue. I found the braille dots on the elevator to be even smaller and closer together.

The backing of the piece has been reinforced within the past 6 months of production. It is now much thicker and more solid.

I got this necklace for my girlfriend and she loves it! The chain it came with was too short but on a longer chain it is perfect. Could be dressed up or down depending on what type of chain you put it on. She wears it to work everday in an office setting. I love it because it is so unique and I have never seen anything like it. The pendant part appears slightly bent because of the pressure that was applied when stamping the braille but is not really that noticable. It could be a little better quality for the money but I mainly got it because it was unique.

This is a nice, and very meaningful gift. It is a gift that would get the attention of anybody. It is sure to raise questions when wearing it. The only thing i did not like was how flimsy the pendant was. It is very thin and I'm afraid could be bent quite easily. Other than that it is a unique, meaningful, and quietly stylish gift for any important girl in your life.

I gave this as a gift to my BF and he loved it and so does everyone else that sees it. Although I do wish the chain was longer. I also like how at the very edge it says in English letters the phrase in Braille "I love you"
