I purchased the New York lamp and just love it and receive many compliments on it. It is colorful and fun, but not garish. Didn't buy the stump lamp base, but am using it on a very simple brushed metal one and it looks great. As my husband is from California originally, am considering buying it too.

I love the "Texas" shade! We bought it for the kids room in our cabin in the woods. What a great addition! I just wish it did not clip to the light bulb -- makes changing the bulb more difficult...
