great idea, looks great, but the hooks or clasp is plastic not metal and it broke the first time out. We had to replace the hooks with metal. Why not use them in the first place.

I bought these for my 18-yr-old as one of her high school graduation gifts. She loves all things Japanese and recently saw the bra straps in the catalog. I surprised her with them and she was tickled pink! They're very well made, pretty, and something out of the ordinary.

By 'unattractive design' I mean that the metal pieces are very large and cheap looking, but it is the comfort and function that are completely lacking. There is absolutely no give in the material and it is very scratchy. You have to adjust them to be worn pretty tight or they pucker on your shoulders, neither giving you support or looking nice, and they leave big, scratchy, red, bra-strap marks.

I love the look and bought both colors (red and black) to spice up the camis I wear under sundresses and tanks in the summer. They are so pretty and unique. I wish the yellow color from the shoe laces was available in the straps as well! My only issue is that as a larger-busted woman-40B, these straps have no "stretch" to them (made from recyled kimonos, of course they don't!) and as such can cut into my shoulders a bit. If I loosen them I lose the support/lift that I need from the strap. Something to think about. Still pretty and I am looking for a cami with more built-in support.
