I was torn between this one and the vegetable basket since they are both so cute. This arrived just as I expected and I think it will last for a long time. I have looked at this product in the catalog for at least a year and wanted it for baby gifts as most everyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with things organic. I loved the fact that this was advertised a chewing/teething toy for babies and saw the description showed "ages 0 and up" in the catalog. When I finally ordered the product online - I did not check the age bracket and was very disappointed to see it was for ages 2 and up when I received the product. I had ordered 2 and they were for baby gifts and now I can't use them. Very disappointed. And - yes, I know I can return them, but who has time for that? That's why I catalog shop in the first place.....

We love this toy. It is very small which makes it the perfect size for a newborn. It gives my husband and I a "prop" for playing with our little baby (lots of stories about fruit, things to wave in the air that aren't heavy or too big, etc.). We would highly reccomend this toy and will likely give it to a friend who is expecting.

I actually gave this as a gift to first time parents and they absolutely loved it! They take the fruit out and put it on the changing table and it keeps the baby distracted while they clean him up. "He's already intrigued by the neat shapes and the texture of the fruit pieces." Definitely a great gift for a newborn that can be used for many years to come!

The fruits are so adorable, especially the banana and grapes that had little faces, and it's nice that they're organic so you know the dyes won't be harmful to babies. I love the idea of introducing kids to fruits and veggies in a fun environment. It's a wonderful present.
That said, the fruits weren't all that soft, they were stiffer than I'd expected. Also, the basket that they come in just barely holds all the fruits in, so they tend to fall out, but with kids, they're not likely to stay in the basket long anyway.
