My four year old son received a slide whistle for his birthday two months ago. He loves it. His 9 and 10 year old cousins saw it at our house and thought it was so cool that they each asked for one for their upcoming birthdays. The slide whistle is fun for a younger child like my son, because it requires no previous musical ability--you can pick it up and immediately start making cool sounds. The older children can have more of a challenge by learning how to make specific notes and trying out the 3 or 4 songs included on a sheet in the box.
