Who doesn't love to knock things down? Destruct 3 is a great way to release stress, have fun and interact, and yes, it's educational too! With this suspenseful and entertaining game, players take turns building a tower while their opponents try to destroy it with one of the destructo devices (the Catapult, the Pendulum, or the Ramp). Sounds simple enough, but this game teaches kids skill and strategy as they learn from cause and effect what kind of design and positioning will help them win the game. Beautifully made in Thailand of sustainable rubber tree wood, Destruct 3 will be fun for the whole family!

Pros:

Cons:
Difficult Instructions
Best Uses:
Family game
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments aboutDESTRUCT 3:
The idea is fun, but the instructions are difficult and don't make sense. We are going to have to make up our own, which makes it less desirable to play. We tried to play the day we got it (for our 12 year old son) with grandparents, and ended up talking back and forth endlessly about what the instructions meant and how you really play the game.

Comments aboutDESTRUCT 3:
This game is sturdily constructed and easy to learn. One player builds a small tower out of 12 very small blocks. The other players take turns trying to knock down the tower using either a small wrecking ball, small ball that goes down a ramp or small catapult. The builder earns points based on how many blocks are still standing; the "wreckers" earn points based on how many blocks they knocked down. I played this game with my 7 year old son, my 9 year old son, and my 65 year old mother-in-law. We all enjoyed it. The 7 year old became a little bored if other players took too long when building our "tower," and he had a little trouble building his own tower when it was his turn.

Comments aboutDESTRUCT 3:
It took us a little while to figure out the instructions correctly, but once we did, our family had a blast playing this. My 11-year-old really enjoyed it. Players take turns being the "builder" (who piles little wooden pieces into a tower) and as the "destroyer" (who rolls the die to see which weapon he or she will use to knock it down). Points are earned by both players depending on where the pieces fall. Because building takes longer than destroying, very young children might lose patience, but everyone else is likely to enjoy it. And it's a BEAUTIFULLY made, heavy, durable wood game.

Comments aboutDESTRUCT 3:
I bought this for my college aged son who, when he is home, usually is isolated, in his room, on his computer. He played this game with the family and we began to see him become more and more animated as we discussed how the game was supposed to work and how one might actually strategize to win. It was simple, yet produced the desired result.

Interesting to see how players built different structures; and the different strategies used for destruction. Definitely for age 8 and up.

It was a little more advanced than expected (would not rec for kids less than 8 or so) but very clever and fun.

Comments aboutDESTRUCT 3:
[...] We use it as a family and greatly enjoy the sometimes unexpected outcome. We think a larger, heavier version allowing up to 8 players would be fun too.
