I bought Tengu under an impression that was incorrect. I thought that since it plugged in via USB, that it "read" what music you were playing and acted on that, instead it is a microphone system and reacts to sound around it. It works pretty well after you adjust your volume and move it around your computer three times to find a spot where it picks up the lyrics and not the music.

The fact that it needs to be plugged in to a computer with no option for using batteries to make it portable is a real downside, as it can't leave your desk and still work unless you want to plug it into your laptop.

I got this for my dad for Father's Day. He works at a desk all day, so I thought this might keep him entertained. I haven't had a chance to see it for myself (I had it sent to him and I don't live nearby), but from what I hear it's a lot of fun and Dad got a kick out of it.

The product was not as animated as I thought and it's much smaller than I envisioned. The 9 year old who recieved it liked it alot. Another odd feature is that it only plugs into a computer or USB, I thought it would plug into a wall.

I bought this as a gift for my dad -- he loved it! I read all the reviews, so I wasn't surprised at how small it is. He is into gadgets, and this one tops them all. He took it to work the next day and introduced it to the whole office...everyone thought it was great.

This sounded like a cute toy for my office. (My co-workers thought it was stupid, and I was too embarrassed to tell them how much it cost.) So I connected it and it lit up... and that was it. It wouldn't respond to music or voice or when I blew in its face (recommended). Hey, if I want to be ignored, I'll talk to my husband.
