Perfection beats perfection! A few years ago, I bought two lamps for my husband and me for bedside reading. Recently, I bought a new lamp, which is slightly larger, far brighter, and two lamps illuminate a room gently while providing perfect lighting for reading. If the design fits your snallish space, these lamps are for you! My husband is arthritic, but I, too, as I drift off to sleep, benefit from the touch on/off.

Not for use as a desk lamp (unfortunately what I bought it for)! Great design, great styling. Poor choice of materials. The whole thing is polished chrome. On my desk, the delightfully bright LEDs reflect off the concave part of the lamp right into my eyes. If they made that part is brushed metal I wouldn't be returning it right now. It's a great lamp, just not a great desk lamp.

I bought this light a year ago for my Mother who loves unique items for her home. She and I liked it so much that I bought her another one for Christmas 2009 and she has them in her Master Bedroom on the bedside tables. They look fantastic and she is able to turn them on with just a touch. The light is ambient and could be a little brighter for her needs but their streamlined unique design more than make up for it.

The lamp is great by your bedside. The illumination it provides is very soft and localized so doesn't bother your partner and, yet, is sufficient for anything you need to do at your side of the bed including reading. The only thing I found inconvinient is that lamp is too sensitive to touch and doesn't have complete switch off feature. Sometimes, I touch it in my sleep and it goes on so I have to unplug it for the night. Adding "hard" on-off switch would have made it just perfect and full 5* product.
