The little guy that is supposed to pop out and you squeeze to charge? Well, that's not so easily Popped Out. When you slide the little switch, sometimes the little piggy needs a sharp rap on the side for the charging thing to come out of the body of the light. It'd be ok, if the plastic weren't so lightweight.

My six year old got ahold of it, and after I showed him the on/off switch and the switch to release the pump he has been operating ever since with no problems. Needless to say it is his now and hopefully he will stop using up the batteries on our traditional flashlights.
The hand pump is very easy. I had concerns he wouldn't have the hand strength and it wasn't an issue. I plan on getting a long safety release lanyard to attache to it instead of the wrist strap. Otherwise this is one well built kid and environment friendly flashlight.
