I gave this to my sister, who does a lot of potlucking, for Christmas and she loves it. We just got back from a family gathering where she brought it along and my other sister loved it, too. Guess what her b-day gift is going to be. I bought the orange one and will for my other sis. So festive looking. If you have a casual or modern kitchen it looks great sitting out. I don't really understand complaints about the materials. It's made of good, sturdy stainless and plastic with terrific finish. And a salad chilled first in the frig comes out as crisp as can be. The only fault I have is that the lid does not snap into place, which would make it much more secure for traveling, though my sister says she's never had a spill driving with it. I do think it's a bit expensive, but it's special enough to make a attractive, useful, long-lasting gift.

The picture made this bowl with plastic cover appear as slick and unique and sculpted as a Phillipe Stark lemon squeezer. It isn't. It is a metal bowl with a cheap plastic cover that is less impressive than the box it comes in. \n\nA disappointing gift.
