I own several reading-specific educational books and flashcard sets. While these are artistic, cute and whimsical the words are very small and difficult to read. If you are trying to help your baby or toddler assimilate objects, shapes, animals, etc. with the corresponding written word, I would not recommend these cards. I have other flashcards that feature one word in an easily legible font on one side and a picture of the object on the other side. This keeps your baby focused on the word; the picture side becomes rewarding when they know what the word means.

These art cards are really cute and well made. I gave the garden and jungle cards as gifts, and I really like them. They are a great shower gift if you want to add something off-registry. They are a bit pricey since you only get six cards in the package, but the cards are durable and probably *almost* worth the price. The unique factor pushes them over the edge and make them worth it. I would buy them again for another shower!
