It casts a nice shadow, but it's very tiny, too small to enjoy without lighting and not too attactive just sitting on a table. A small space is needed to cast a nice shadow. I bought one for a gift and was going to buy another one for myself but when I received it I was taken aback on the size. The price was a little high for the product.

Had expectations that were not quite met with this item...I'm usually thrilled with my Uncommon Goods purchases, but not so much this time...a rare miss...I wanted to do something creative with a blank wall in my home and thought this would do the trick (I bought the Pine)...in fact I had planned to eventually buy several more and group them to create a "forest" effect on my wall...it's a beautiful little oil lamp, but it does have to be placed very close to a wall in order to get a nice crisp image, and the shadow cast is smaller than I had expected....in my opinion, not worth the price.

The product is extremely unique. It projects a very pretty image. However, the projection is quite small. This would be suitable atop a dresser, not suitable for stand-alone decor.

I received this as a gift and was very impressed by the packaging as well as by the oil-shadow lamp's appearance. It is quite pretty just sitting on my table. The shadow it casts is also attractive and the guests at my birthday party spent some time gazing at the "birthday tree". There was only a small disappointment, however, in that I somehow expected the shadow on the wall to be large. It's about 18" high which is lovely, but a rather diminutive tree.
