we put it on our nightstand under our lamp so at night when we use our lamp it is also charging the glow brick. then when we turn off our lamp we have the nice glow of the brick. (its not as bright as i thought it would be though.)

Not as Glowing as I had hoped

I got this for our 7 year old's bathroom. I had hoped that it would be bright enough to keep her from leaving on the bathroom lights. No such luck. You can see it glowing...but it isn't giving off enough light to make a difference. Maybe if it got more sunlight during the day it would perform better.

As a novelty item, it is nothing more. the fascination wore off quickly. The Metro/Home photo gave the impression that it may help to solve energy problems.
As a kid I loved things that glowed in the dark, maybe my neice will be the future owner of this.

The bulb does not illuminate nearly enough. In fact, the only time you can tell the bulb is illuminated is in a very dark closet with no light. This renders it useless for outdoor night use. Do not waste your money!!! Get the sun jar instead.
