It was matte plastic- I was expecting gloss. The hands of the clock were all bent somewhat and had to be pushed carefully back to somewhat straight. Should have been cheaper considering manufacturing costs.

The hanging mechanism on the back of the clock came off immediately and couldn't be reattached. Without it, it became almost impossible to hang the clock without several nail being used to hold in place. While it looks ok, it looks much cheaper than it's value.

I actually put this in my office - it is abstract enough I don't think most people realize it is a slice of orange! I really like it and have had several positive comments. That said, it IS small - I had a small place to put it, but first I had tried it in my kitchen and it looked a bit small. the manufacturer's should come out with a 12-inch version as well. That said, I may still get a second clock for my kitchen.
