The "Rules of the Table" set is beautifully painted with pearls of wisdom such as, "Never carry away fruits and confectionery from the table," "Never hesitate to take the last piece of bread or the last of the cake; there is probably more" and six others. The sturdy porcelain has the decorative scrolled border of a fine family heirloom that you can enjoy every day with fruit salad, ice cream, and more. Designed in Bainbridge Island, Washington, the bowls are made in a factory in the Czech Republic that has been operating since 1792. Dishwasher and microwave safe.

The bowls were not as big as the picture made them seem. I thought they were going to be big enough for soup bowls. They are only big enough as a small desert bowl. It is hard to think of good uses for the bowl. They are a unique gift though.
