Intrigued with the notion of reviving discarded bicycle parts, he and his artisan friends in Portland, Oregon, started creating functional products from recycled bike parts and other rescued materials. This Hybrid Wall Clock is a prime example - it's made using mirror-like hard discs harvested from discarded computers and combined with bicycle chain rings. It's wall mountable and operates on a single AA battery. You'll get great mileage out of this clock and feel good in knowing that you're doing your part in keeping America litter-free!

I got this clock as a gift for my brother who owns a bicycle shop. It is such a beautiful design, simple and stunning. That the clock is made from recycled items just adds to the appeal--it was the topic of discussion at his party! The online photo shows the clock with a gold-colored hard drive in the center. The one I bought came with a silver hard drive--still gorgeous--but I thought the gold added another dimension to the design.

I love that it's made from recycled materials that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill somewhere. It looks great, but is too small to hang in a large room. I bought it for my fiance as a birthday gift (he got the bike chain bottle opener for Christmas!), and he absolutely loves it. He's going to hang it in his office at work.
