Bought a white porcelain one in Germany in 1986

I have several ceramic pieces by this artist. I love them all. They are so realistic that you think they are one thing but they turn out to be something else you didn't expect. I even used them in an Art lesson with my high school students to make the point that one role of artists is to "fool the eye." I set one of these "bags" among some real paper bags and asked the class is any of the bags were different. When they said, "No," they were delighted when I passed around the "fake." It really helped make the point.

Saw this vase and thought it was a real paper bag.
You can change what you put in the vase by the season (flowers of the season) or just leave it empty and it looks good on any table or book shelf.

Not only do I fully enjoy the Paper Bag Vase in my own home, but I've bought it for friends to enjoy as well! I'm always sure to fill the large size vase with tall, fresh flowers whenever guests visit and it never fails to attract positive attention. My most recent purchase of the vase was for a friend who delivered her first baby and celebrated her own birthday on the same day. I didn't expect to receive any acknowledgement from the gift since it was a very busy time for my friend but as soon as she received the vase, my friend picked up the phone and called me to rave about the vase and how she had already put sunflowers in it!
